Founder

On 1st March 1938, Byung-Chul founded a trucking business in Daegu, which he named Samsung Trading Co, the forerunner to Samsung. Samsung means - Three Stars which explains the initial corporate logos. The company started transporting goods and was ranked among one of the 10 largest trading companies.

Story

The company was initially doing business in Dry Fish, grocery, and Noodles, and gradually the company formed its base in the insurance, security, and retail sectors as well.

It entered the electronics business in 1969, and brought the first TV of P-3202 model. Further, it brought a Refrigerator, Microwave, Oven, color TV, and VCR. In 1983, the company moved a step further and entered in Telecommunication sector and brought the first SC-100 built-in-car phone.

But the company faced losses with this and some other models for many years. Then after a lot of research, it brought the SH-700 model, which was its first successful model in the market, which was liked and admired by many people.

The company entered in the Indian market in 2004, and after 2009-2010 it launched the Samsung Galaxy which occupied a place in the heart of the people, in our nation as well as in the whole world. The tower Burj Kahlifa was constructed by Samsung C&T from South Korea. It also worked on the Petronas Twin Towers and Taipei 101. The company also shows its expertise in making the K9 Thunder tank for South Korea.

The company has consistently ranked as one of the largest company in the world. Their sales have been around 200 Billion Dollars each year.
